The United Republic of Tanzania is an English-speaking East African economic powerhouse (EAC and SADC member operating under English common law). Anchored by the commercial port metropolis of Dar es Salaam (major maritime trade gateway serving landlocked Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo, and Zambia), massive offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) discoveries in the Lindi basin (Equinor/Shell mega-LNG project), world-class gold mining (Barrick Gold), rare earth critical minerals, world-famous safari eco-tourism (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Mount Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar), and expanding mobile money ecosystems, Tanzania offers rapid industrial growth. Hiring employees in Tanzania requires compliance with the Employment and Labour Relations Act (**ELRA 2004**), mandatory contributions to the National Social Security Fund (**NSSF** at 10% employer / 10% employee), the Skills and Development Levy (**SDL** at 3.5%), the Workers' Compensation Fund (**WCF** at 0.5%), Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) income tax withholding with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (**TRA**), and Class B Residence and Work Permits. Setting up a local company takes 2 to 4+ weeks via BRELA. A Global Employer of Record (EOR) enables international energy, mining, and development corporations to hire talent in Tanzania legally, managing English-language contracts, NSSF remittances, SDL and TRA tax filings, and compliant TZS/USD payroll.
